is your flat roof in need of Balcony or Roof Terrace? Get the job done first time, on time and in budget.
Managing Director: Stace Roofing Ltd
Choosing a flat roof is like stepping into a minefield. There are so many choices, and hazards at every turn. Make the wrong move, and the results could be disastrous.
I know this all too well – because every week, my team and I get called in to pick up the pieces. We’re asked to minimise the damage caused by other roofers – usually amateurs, who’ve put in the wrong type of roof or botched the installation.
So if you’re about to invest in a new Flat Roof Balcony or Roof Terrace, it’s vital that you understand this:
Good or bad, the choices you make now will live with you for years.
At Stace Roofing we take away the risk and will deliver 100% peace of mind - guaranteed.

"It was a pleasure dealing with a Company that provides a highly professional and considerate service. I have received a number of (good) comments regarding the works from neighbours and also a note through the front door - all of whom asked who was carrying the work and for your contact details which I have passed on - I hope you get at least one enquiry from those."
"How refreshing to deal with a thoroughly professional company who understand customer service and quality work. The team treated my house as a home not a building site and nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending them"

flat roof Balconies and Roof Terraces A great extra use of your flat roof
A roof terrace is an elevated area of a building that can be used as a garden or social area. A balcony is usually a smaller area that projects from the building and is usually and extension to one room and is also accessed from that room
Make the most of your flat roof space and convert it into a valuable living area where you can entertain, barbeque, sunbathe or watch the world below go by. With a huge range of railings, glass balustrades and features available, create yourself a space which will give your property the X-factor and add value to your home at the same time.
All of our flat roofing systems are suitable for use on terraces, walkways and Roof Gardens. Our GRP and Single-ply membranes have been fully tested to withstand the extra weights of both slabs, decking, paving and green roof coverings when installed to the correct specifications.
There's nothing like sitting on top of your roof in a well-designed garden area, especially if you are restricted with space on the ground floor. You will need to consider planning restrictions and the privacy of your neighbours, but solutions are usually available with frosted glass panels and privacy screens. We will come out and assess the suitability of your flat roof to ensure that it is both practical and affordable to convert this usually wasted space into a Grand Design.
We can arrange for the correct structural calculations to be carried out on your behalf and deal with the local planning authorities to ensure a smooth running project. Our terraces and balconies are all compatible with our range of insulation systems, whether flat PIR insulation or tapered cut-to-falls insulation boards to ensure total water run-off.
Maximising the space of a flat roof is a great way to add more living space in a property. Bars, restaurants and clubs are now using these spaces as luxury hangouts. With the right design and the right roofing system, a well thought out terrace or balcony can add real value and an attractive place to sit and relax or create outdoor garden space. In the right situation, any of the 5 flat roof systems we offer at Stace Roofing can be used on these types of roof.
If the flat roof/floor of the area is going to be covered with either slabs, decking or tiles, it's essential that the roof coverings have had an ELD (Electronic Leak Detection) test before covering.
Finding you have a leak once the expensive covering has been put down is a very expensive mistake to make. This goes for both new and existing roofs.
Our GRP Fibreglass system is suitable for use as a terrace or balcony without the need to put down decking or slabs.
A beautiful coating of coloured quartz can be applied to a layer of adhesive on the top coat of the GRP system that creates a hard wearing and attractive area that compliments any building. Choose from over 10 different colours of kiln dried quartz.
So many choices. So how do you know which is right for you?
Well, you could talk to me…
Here’s the problem. It’s hard to get an independent expert opinion on this. Most experts are busy working 15 feet up in the air! So when you ask for a home visit, often as not you’ll be sent a salesman – someone with minimal training, who just wants to sell you a particular kind of roof.
Which kind? Well, whichever makes his company the most money. He’ll tell you, no doubt about it, that’s the one you need!
When he should be telling you, which roof is going to suit your property, your needs, and your budget.
I don’t like this practice one bit. So I set aside time, at either end of my working day, to visit customers at home and look at their needs in detail.
Not for the industry standard “Free No-Obligation Survey”! That’s what the sales guys use.
No, this is a full-blown consultation. I’ll take a look at your current roof – or the space set aside for a new one. I’ll check for structural issues that might affect your plans. Then I’ll hand you a full report: a written diagnostic, with independent recommendations.
By the time we’re done, you’ll know exactly how to proceed. Whether that means hiring me to do the work or not.
This Flat Roofing Consultation has a £250 value. But if you’re serious about your roofing project, I’ll carry it out for you free of charge.
Or if time is tight, I’ll send one of my expert team along.
This Is Not A ‘Luxury’ Step
We might find that your roof is good for another 5-10 years…saving you the hassle and expense of doing it now. Or we might find a minor fault that can be easily treated – so you only need a repair, not a whole new roof.
